Ormoc City

Top 8 places I have visited in just one afternoon in
Ormoc City, Leyte.

1.  Lake Danao

The tranquil Lake Danao

2.  Sts. Peter and Paul Church

Sts. Peter and Paul Church.  This is where the power couple Mr. Richard Gomez (an award-winning Filipino actor) and his wife Mrs. Lucy-Torres Gomez  (commercial model/host and now congresswoman) got married in April 28, 1998.

6. Veteran's Centennial Park

7.  Fuente de la Reina Bridge

The remnants of this of bridge is the oldest ruins from the Colonial period still visible up to this day in Ormoc.

8. Ormoc City Superdome

How to get here

Ormoc City is located in Leyte Province, Eastern Visayas.  There used to be direct flights from Manila by a local airline but has now been temporarily suspended.  Once could catch seat sales from various local airlines like Cebu Pacific, PAL, Air Phil Express, Fly Sea Air and Zest Air towards Tacloban City at approximately an hour's flight.

From Tacloban City, it is a mere 2-3 hour ride to this first class city.  Local shuttles (van) and different bus companies offer direct trips to and from Tacloban and also to other cities in the province of Leyte, Biliran and the Samar provinces.
